Why I Switched to Consultancy from Institutional Leadership
For years, I built long-term strategies and built teams to survive and thrive among global economic challenges such as 2008 and the pandemic of 2020. In each of those downturns I was required to improvise and change plans that were already well in motion.
In each of those eras, we grew in both size, scope, and relevancy in our community. No lay-offs, and no turning back.
But in those times of change I knew that we didn’t always have the right expertise in-house. I was never reluctant to bring in short-term support to train, guide, solve, or just get the job done when my staff was maxed out.
After working with dozens of consultants, I reflected on the good situations and the bad. The bad were the ones that tried to fit us into a template, and those that gave us the answer we wanted to hear. The good ones came with an organic approach and were open-minded every day as the projects evolved.
As the economy shifts again in what will probably be a challenging post-pandemic economy, I started LLSA to help companies and non-profits with the right support, the right answers, and the right plans. Not just the answers they want to hear.
